Rolex Rolex Daytona 6262

The first model of this historical reference dates back to 1963. This model is associated with the world of motor racing and was designed to meet the chronometric needs of professional drivers. The model had, and still has, three counters and a tachymeter scale that allows drivers to precisely measure their time. Despite being Rolex's most famous model, it wasn't an immediate success. The most iconic model is the Paul Newman made of steel with an Exotic dial. It was worn in 1969 by Paul Newman on the set of "Virages", a film directed by James Goldstone. The model owned by Paul Newman was sold in 2017 by Philips in New York for $17.8 million. This is a very rare model as it was only produced for two years. The 6262 shares many similarities with the 6239, namely a white and black dial, the " T SWISS T " marking at 6 o'clock indicating the presence of Tritium in the luminescent markers. The only difference is the change to a Caliber 727.
